Journeying across the highlands of Western Sichuan, four days carry us from the mirrored turquoise lakes of Jiuzhaigou to the golden terraces of Huanglong, where mineral pools shimmer beneath clear mountain skies. while forested paths in Bipenggou soften the rhythm of the trail. At Dagu Glacier, we ascend above drifting clouds to stand among ancient ice and boundless horizons. Between sacred peaks and crystal waters, each day unfolds like a passage through living landscapes — vivid, elevated, and profoundly still.

Itinerary

Day-one

Chengdu → Bipenggou → Heishui / Yangronghad

Setting out from Chengdu, the road gradually leaves the fertile basin behind and climbs into the cool embrace of the mountains. Entering Bipenggou, crystal streams wind through vibrant forests, snow peaks rising beyond layered ridgelines. Continuing north toward Heishui and the tranquil village of Yangronghad, traditional wooden homes and prayer flags stand against sweeping alpine scenery. This route weaves together forested valleys, autumn colors, and Tibetan highland culture into a serene mountain escape.

Day - Two

Heishui / Yangronghad → Dagu Glacier → Songpan → Jiuzhaigou Entrance

Setting out from Heishui, the ascent toward Dagu Glacier reveals dramatic contrasts of dark rock and luminous ice. Descending toward Songpan, ancient city walls and grassland horizons echo centuries of frontier history. The journey concludes at the entrance of Jiuzhaigou, gateway to one of China’s most enchanting natural worlds. Day - Three

Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area One-Day Exploration

Setting out at dawn, the pathways of Jiuzhaigou unfold beside crystal-clear lakes shimmering in shades of emerald and sapphire. Wooden boardwalks wind through quiet forests, leading to tiered waterfalls that thunder into luminous pools below. Snow peaks rise beyond mirror-like waters, while Tibetan villages rest peacefully among the trees. In a single day, this journey reveals a world where color, reflection, and mountain air blend into an unforgettable alpine fairytale.

Day - Four

Jiuzhaigou Entrance → Huanglong → Chengdu

Leaving Jiuzhaigou, the road climbs again, leading to Huanglong. There, golden limestone terraces cascade down the mountainside like frozen sunlight. Streams murmur among mineral pools, surrounded by forests and distant snow-capped peaks. Finally, we returned to Chengdu, concluding our four-day exploration of the canyons and mountains.
