Journey Overview

Departing from Chengdu and ascending into the folds of the western highlands, we arrive at Niubei Mountain where oceans of clouds drift beneath blazing sunsets and night skies shimmer with untold constellations. At dawn, snow peaks emerge like islands in a silver sea before we continue across Zheduo Pass and along Road 434 toward the sweeping ridgelines of Gedilam and Barlangshengdu, where wind and light move freely across the plateau.

Day-one

Chengdu → Niubei Mountain (Sea of Clouds, Starry Sky, Sunset)

Setting out from Chengdu, the road ascends from the fertile basin into the mist-laden mountains of western Sichuan. Upon reaching Niubei Mountain, vast seas of clouds roll beneath the summit, glowing in hues of gold at sunset. As night falls, countless stars shimmer above the high ridges, and at dawn, snow peaks ignite beneath the first light of day. This route captures cloud oceans, radiant sunrises, and infinite skies in one unforgettable alpine experience.

Day - Two

Niubei Mountain → Zheduo Mountain / Airport Road 434 → Gedilam / Barlangshengdu → Tagong

Leaving Niubei Mountain behind, the journey continues across the dramatic heights of Zheduo Pass and along the winding curves of Airport Road 434. Climbing toward Gedilam or Barlangshengdu, panoramic platforms reveal layered mountains stretching endlessly beneath the sky. Descending onto the open grasslands of Tagong, snow-capped summits rise above grazing herds and fluttering prayer flags. This route threads together high mountain passes, cinematic viewpoints, and expansive plateau horizons into a sweeping highland corridor.

Tagong → Gunong Village → Tibetan Costume Photography → Muya Monastery → Honghaizi → Chengdu

Passing the tranquil waters of Honghaizi, where snow peaks reflect upon the lake’s surface, the journey gradually descends back to Chengdu. This route unites cultural immersion, sacred architecture, and alpine reflections into a richly layered highland finale.
